nurses we are... u tink we onli care for pple?? in fact YES! thats e truth.. we care for them.. its not one or two or a few.. its mani.. patients comes in everydae every moment whenever they huf to... nurses continuously care n care n care.. so when do nurses get e care themselves??
its realli hard esp when patients dun get what they need frm e nurses.. tt is becoz nurses are also human beings.. u cant always b giving.. n everybody comes into e hospital NEEEDING CARE!! its nobody's fault. esp. when life gets all routine.. it becomes realli mundane for e nurses... n patient is more or less treated like a thing rather than a person.. its realli no wonder.. nurses huf too mani things to do!! serving medication (infusion, oral, parenteral, rectal, blah etc) toilet care (shit n urine) oral care, hygiene (sponging, bathing, trolley bath etc), nutrition ( serve diet.. milo, coffee, meals), psychological care (anxiety, sadness, depression, nervousness, madness.. ), social support (inform family members abt patient, ensure family come to see patient.. if nt .. nurses are there to be someone to care for them).. all these work are onli for one patient!! imagine how mani patients are there in e ward? if we would huf enough nurses.. it should b best if ONE NURSE to ONE PATIENT.. then i considered it holistic care!! muahahaha.. but it will nvr happen.. unlesss u got $$ .. we student nurses are all still young n energetic.. we got lots o care to gif .. becoz we ourselves are being cared for!! somebody loves n care for us.. which is our family n our other veri closed ones.. but once we aged.. if family had started in u .. u even huf to provide CARE for ur family.. CARE it such a big word to shoulder on... u need responsibility to care... its more than wat we tink.. but we can see pple practicing it.. we can feel that pple care for us. i dont noe wat i m toking abt.. jus a little tired frm my attachment todae... seen how nurses neglect patient' psychological needs... but at e same time u cant blame e nurses.. coz they simply huf too much in their hands.. i realli love myself for being a student nurse now... i love myself for touching on e whole o patients care... to future student nurses: i hope u can b as wonderful as i thought i m .. i m not boasting or wat.. but being a student nurse can realli help in mani ways.. u r not seen as e most impt one in e ward.. but seen as e most recognised by patients.. patient will call for u for simple little things.. tt we can simply do it but not for them.. so its like chicken feeet to help these patients fulfill their little wishes n making their stay more satisfying.. student nurses are e ones where staff nurses slogged like hell, neglect patient care n u stepped in to fill up e hole there..
its easi to be a registered nurse.. BUT not easy to b a patient centered registered nurse..
we student nurses always look at e way registered nurses work.. n complain to our lecturers n stuff.. n we sae to ourselves or to our friends that we will nvr do tt when we pass out..
but hu can sae wat will happen??
huf u ever been in e shoes o a registered nurse?? wat makes u tink u wont do anithing like e registered nurse did.. huf u ever tried her workload over ur shoulders??
i m not siding wif e registered nurses or protecting myself when i become a registered nurse.. jus to tell those who read that STUDENT NURSES LIFE = ENJOY it!! n student nurses u know it!!
